The BCCJ welcomes RouteX to our ever-growing community. RouteX Inc. is a Tokyo-based global innovation consultancy specialising in international startup ecosystems and cross-border business development. Since its founding in 2018, the company has supported more than 100 partnerships between Japanese corporations, international startups, government agencies, and research institutions.
With a strong track record in Japan, Europe, and Asia, RouteX helps organisations accelerate innovation by providing strategic insights, market entry support, ecosystem mapping, and partnership development. The company has also operated subsidiaries in France and Russia, gaining deep expertise in cross-cultural leadership, international operations, and on-the-ground collaboration with local stakeholders.
RouteX is known for its ability to bridge diverse ecosystems, translating global trends into actionable opportunities for corporate clients. Its services range from global startup scouting, open innovation program design, and international acceleration support to government-backed ecosystem development projects.
Why did you join the BCCJ?
I joined the BCCJ for one clear reason: it is the most direct platform in Japan for building practical UK–Japan business relationships, and that matches RouteX’s core mission of enabling cross-border collaboration.
What do you most hope to gain from your time as a member?
I hope to (1) deepen practical UK–Japan business insight through the BCCJ’s network and program, (2) build trusted, long-term relationships with executives, founders, and ecosystem builders on both sides, and (3) contribute as an 'operator' who helps turn conversations into real pilots and partnerships.
What makes your organisation unique in your industry or market?
RouteX is a Tokyo-based global innovation consultancy and 'startup ecosystem' think tank. We combine ecosystem research and global startup intelligence with hands-on execution including market entry support, ecosystem mapping, and partnership development, so clients can move from insight to concrete cross-border collaboration.
What recent achievements or milestones are you most proud of?
One recent milestone we are particularly proud of is our ongoing work in partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government through the 'TokyoSuteam' project, where we continuously support Japanese DeepTech startups in expanding into Europe.
What kind of collaborations or connections are you most interested in building through the BCCJ?
UK and Japan corporates (innovation, CVC, and business development teams) seeking startup partnerships or market-entry pathways.

Mr Takayuki Omori
Message from the Founder & CEO
I founded RouteX Inc. while studying for my MBA at Kyoto University, and I’ve been fortunate to work with many startups, large corporations, and government-related organisations along the way. Personally, I relocated my base to Canary Wharf, London for about two years between 2024 and 2025, where I was inspired by the dynamism and potential of the UK startup ecosystem. Now that I am back in Tokyo, I joined the BCCJ as entrepreneur member because I want to continue serving as a bridge between Japan and the UK. I truly look forward to exchanging insights on cutting-edge business trends with you and building strong networks and friendships together.
Profile
During my student years, I worked with Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support and Coral Capital, supporting the operation and development of startup communities. Based on a business plan that received an excellence award while I was enrolled at the Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University, I founded RouteX Inc. in 2018 as a student entrepreneur. I specialise in research on global startup ecosystems and analyse business models and technologies from startups worldwide. I also played a key role in establishing RouteX Inc.’s Russia subsidiary (later withdrawn due to the war) and France subsidiary, and I bring extensive experience in overseas business launch, negotiation, and cross-border operations. I am currently enrolled in the Executive MBA at the University of Oxford.
